Mounted Orchids for Trade: Brassocattleya and Encyclia

I have seen some orchid interest in the past here at TF, so I thought I would post up some other surplus plants I have. These are mounted -- one on cork bark the other on persimmon wood -- and are well established. Unfortunately, I was a bit aggressive in moving them to higher light conditions...

Meadowview: Search for plants continues in south-east Virginia

Hi all: Just updating on recent finds in southeast Virginia as we continue to search for rare plants. Recenty we canoed a millpond in southern Virginia and found what we think to be a new county record for Utricularia radiata. It was a beautiful pond with good biodiversity and excellent water...

    Meadowview Internship 2011

I am one of the fortunate interns at Meadowview this summer. I could not have asked for a better opportunity to present itself to me by a long shot. I am a Studio Art major, but carnivorous plants and their conservation are a huge passion of mine. My background does provide some huge...

    U. radiata

My U. radiata recently bloomed. All three flowers have dropped off, and the ovary appears to be swelling. I don't believe any insects were able to get in and do this. Does U. radiata readily self-pollinate and produce seed? If so, I may have a fair amount for donation here and to ICPS.

They are gorgeous, Graceful, and just darn cool looking. If you haven't...
