Hello everyone! I was wondering what lowland nepenthes you recommend for my terrarium. Currently I have a N. ampullaria and N. spectabilis x ventricosa.
Any recommendations?
A few days ago, I noticed that one of my nepenthes spectabilis x singalana was wilting. To be more exact, the lid of the pitcher was wilting. In addition, it kinda stopped growing. A month ago, it just did just fine because it grew a new pitcher but this month, it just stopped. However, my other...
I picked up a couple of N. aristolochioides hybrids yesterday, which I wanted to share:
N. spectabilis x aristolochioides:
N. (spectabilis x ventricosa) x aristolochioides:
Since I got these both yesterday, I didn't grow these little pitchers, but I thought they were really cool, so I...
I was wondering if anyone is growing this particular hybrid? I haven't been able to find any pictures so far except for BEs seedling pic from the catalog.
Seems like it should be a promising hybrid.
Hey Everyone!
First off, I just wanted to thank you so much for your advice on my last post. Got a larger terrarium, quad T30 3ft lights, and got the temp and humidity right and it perked and colored up in just two weeks. And every single leaf is producing a solid looking pitcher.
Anyways, now...
I don't believe there has been a thread made about this cross yet, if there has, excuse me.
Anyway my plant just made its first pitcher in my care and I must say that I absolutely am blown away already with the plant, even at such a young age.
I can't be the only one growing this one! Let's...
The new pitcher tip is very soft and flexible and the lower leaves are yellowing/dying
I got it about two weeks ago. Right now it's sitting about 6 inches under a 5600k 24w cfl , 12 hours. There's airflow and it's about 50 - 60 degrees (unheated room)
It's a (Spectabilis x Ventricosa ) x...
I posted this on proboards originally, but I figured I might get a hit or two here as well:
I'd love trade for any of these plants (or work something else out). Please PM me if you have any of the plants I'm looking for or if any of the ones I've listed below are of interest to you!
What I'm...

If you love Nepenthes as much as I do...
....the following may be hard to see.
So this summer was hot, and I lived in a place without AC. Needless to say, my highland Nepenthes were not happy with that. But then I moved, and also upgraded from a fishtank with lights set up to a...
Hello! Fairly new to the forums, asking all sorts of questions all over the place for my new 3 plants, but I really want to get everything right and not have a graveyard on my hands! I just finished setting up a new terrarium, got brand new lights, and figured out how to keep the darn thing at...
Hello, I'm in Santa Clara, CA and I am just getting back into CP growing! I'm 22, when I was quite a bit younger I had a small collection, but school and sports got in my way and I had to give them away. I'm getting back into it now, and have just purchased a Fly Trap (Traditional, necessary...
Hey y'all, I'm looking for N. Viking (Mirabilis var. globosa) species and hybrids. I'd be most interested in Viking x amp (red) but I'd definitely consider anything else. I'm also looking for:
* Always looking for clones/plants of tentaculata ***
* ampullaria
* eymae
* glabrata
* gymnamphora
*...
I have two Nepenthes that I'm not sure if they're ok or not and would appreciate some advice/thoughts.
The first one is N. spectabilis. I'm not sure if I even need to worry about this one since the newer leaves are doing good. My concern is the older leaves seem to die really fast and turn...
I'm getting back into growing Nepenthes after taking a break for the better part of the decade. I'll be ordering my plants later in the week, and I've noticed that there is a much larger range of hybrids available, especially hybrids between highland species that were rare in cultivation until...
I was just given some bench space in the horticulture club greenhouse at my university. I live in a tiny apartment, so I'm excited to finally have room to grow Nepenthes. Light and humidity seem perfect, but according to the greenhouse complex manager, the hort club greenhouse is heated to a...
I noticed yesterday that the growth tip on my N. lowii x campanulata was turning black. After freaking out, I hoped for the best -- at least I could resort to the basal, right? Just five minuted ago I found the basal's growth tip turning black!
I know the person I got it from is gonna see this...
