When I set up one of my tanks a year ago, I laid down foam in varying thicknesses across the bottom of the tank to act as a sort of capillary mat. This worked quite well. In one place, the foam did not quite meed the edge of the tank, so I planted some utrics in a spot of peat moss in the gap...
Here's a picture of Utricularia tridentata. I recieved this plant from copper some time ago.
About 2 months ago, or maybe more, it started a flower stalk. Got a big flower bud on it, and took forever to open. It better stay around for a while.

Are they tropicals that need special soils or can they live happily in in sand and peat? Do they have to be in a terrarrium or can their pots be put on a windowsill? Lastly, just cause I'm curious, where do these plants come from? I hope to get these plants soon and I want to treat them right...
