I harvested some seed from my Drosera burmannii on May 9th, 2016. The plant is all green, even the tentacles, although growing in halfway decent light ( bright enough to color up the hitchhiking Sundew in that pot ). The flower is a light pink. I've posted photos of this plant and its flower on T.F. I will be sending most of the seed to the ICPS seedbank, but I thought I'd share some with forum members here.
I'm giving away one package containing 2 fresh seed pods. There are, I don't know exactly, 50 to 100 seeds in each pod. I have not cleaned the seeds out of the pod. These are very very tiny, even for Drosera seeds. Don't sneeze.
I will pay for shipping. If you're interested, add your name to the list. The winner will be chosen by random number drawing on May 17th, 2016 at 23:59 P.M. CDST. Posts made after that date and time will not be eligible. The winner can PM me their name and address and I'll mail them immediately.
Drosera burmannii is easy to cultivate but but you have to feed it aggressively to keep it healthy and surviving beyond flowering and seed-set. I don't think you can overfeed this species without extraordinary measures. It often grows as an annual in its natural habitat.
This giveaway is open to forum members who have successfully raised at least one species of CP from seed to maturity and gotten seeds from it. List it after your name on the list if you don't mind.
If you are in a country other than the USA, please enter only if it's legal for me to to send you seed and for you to receive these seeds in your country. I want to be inclusive but I don't want to break any laws or import / export restrictions.
I ask the winner to "Pay it forward". If you win, do a giveaway of your own within a year. Let's spread those CP species around. Sound reasonable? This is only my second giveaway, so if I missed anything or did anything wrong, please let me know.
Thanks and good growing to all,
Mike
