Dying sundew, can it revive? is it too late? please help us!

Hey everyone,

So long story short, Got this sundew shortly after Halloween. It was BLOOMING! Constantly making new leaves, constantly growing.

However, as of last Monday. I noticed the plant started turning yellow. I reached out on reddit, and someone told me the water wasn't coming up the substrate. As this time occurred, I noticed that it started going orange. With this being said, it also became appartent that my one cat would climb up the table, and lick the sundew.

As of last thursday. I repotted it in new soil, kept it in a tray of water,, and just continued to give it light. Pictures are what it is as of today.

My question is, can it be revived? Is it too late? what can I do to help it recover??

At an educated guess I would say it can probably be revived. What you describe doing sounds right to me. I would suggest also that you cut the bottom out of a clear disposable drinking cup and turn that upside down over the plant to provide increased humidity for awhile - but keep an eye out for fungus and remove the cup if you see any. The humidity. I was going to use shrink wrap or plastic wrap over the top of it. But not sure how much I should be giving it via humidity wise.

And if I go this route, should I stop tray watering to prevent mold?

I would keep it on the tray. You don't want to completely enclose it, just raise the humidity. I recommend the plastic cup.

When should I start to see a difference? I know I'm being inpatient, but no changes within a week's difference. However, whatever green leaves there are on the bottom, have not died yet.

It's hard to say for certain but I would expect new growth within 3 weeks or so. It might help you to look it over with a magnifying glass to see how things are progressing, if you haven't already done so. If the leaves aren't dying anymore, that sounds positive.

Thank you for your response. Like I said, most of them are brown. However, there are about 3 green leaves. They have not altered in color, and nothing has really changed. I did notice since raising the humidity, the few green leaves on the bottom have developed dew.

I shall wait and be patient!

Here is an update 1 week and 3 days later after the transplant. Not looking great, but there are still 3 leaves that are not dead yet.
