First Lily Bloom of the Season!

For me at least. The winner is: Hemerocallis 'Daylily Crimson Pirate'. Came out looking really wonderful! Picture taken this morning after a light rain. It really added naturalism I thought.

Very beautiful!

Nice! Good to see Daylilies that aren't golden yellow.

I have lots of Daylillies I'm still waiting on but none of the Stella D' Oro yellows I think you are referring to. Still have orange (tigers) as well as some Little Missy I'm still waiting on. That Crimson Pirate is the one and only.

Here's the lilies that have bloomed for me thus far.

Easter (longiflorum)

Mire to come as they all bloom :D

Wow!

Nice! I have a bunch of typical oranges, and 6 one of a kinds that came from a friends breeding program. They didn't fit in to his vision of what he was trying to develop, but they're real beauties. Won't be in bloom for a couple months though.

Subrosa: I have attempted a few crosses myself but Idk what the success rate will be. I crossed an Easter pupu with a Hemorocallis Crimson Pirate and crossed a Durango and Easter lily. Will probably try more as things bloom. I have three Double Tiger Oranges that are developing buds and I cannot wait for.

I'll get pics up when these bloom. I plan to move them this fall, so I figure I'll divide them and put some fans up in next years NASC auction.

I just got a good idea for a cross... A "Florugense" which Is a longiflorum x lankongense cross x Landini. Can you imagine a dark, spotted Landini that hangs downwards like the Florugense? Awesome!
