1. Only ONE (1) PITCHER per member may be entered in any particular month.
2. All pictures must be taken in the month of entry into the contest.
3. All entries must be clearly identified.
4. Entries are restricted to cultivated plants.
5. Contestants may post as many times and as many pictures of their entry as they like until contest closing on 08/31/13
6. Sequential pictures showing opening of a pitcher are fine as long as all pictures are taken within the month of the contest.
7. If, for some reason, a single pitcher cannot be isolated and a group shot is necessary, then the particular pitcher entered must be clearly identified in your post.
8. Plant must have been grown by owner at least six months prior to photo.
9. Times of Contest and Poll openings and closings are to be understood as EST.
10. Judging by forum members and guests in a poll opening on 09/01/13, closing 09/05/13 and using this forum! Voting will open on top of the thread at the close of the contest submissions.

** Please remember to clearly identify your entry!!**

Contest will be closed on August 31st 2013 at 5:00PM EST
Good luck!!

Uphwiz, you always manage to cook/bring out the best colours in your pitchers, what's the secret lighting arrangement? If you don't mind sharing...

with t5s, grow bulbs are usually 5000-6500 k and the bloom bulbs are 3000 k

Thanks for the info Myles & Jimmy, not sure if this is possible, but has anyone attempted placing a lamp directly onto the pitcher at close range( 1-2ft away) with say 2000-3000kelvin. I'm positive the leaves would burn at that distance, but what if the light was directed strictly onto the pitcher, has anyone literally cooked a pitcher to the point of it being black and crisp? I think Jimmy you've probably come as close as anyone with that Lowii x Camp. I only use ambient light, hence why I ask.

It's in reference to this thread http://pitcherplants.proboards.com/thread/10843/deep-red-pitchers-2000k-buried?page=1&scrollTo=91395

iv had tendrils hang down right next to a t5 bulb (1-3 inches away) and they promptly responded by drying up.

i have a bunch of my plants no more than a foot away from the bulbs. it definitely pushes their limits until fully adjusted but not sure just how much it affects the pitcher color/development.

these plants are only under two bulbs, if i put 4 bulbs in the fixture at that distance, I am confident they would fry and die a slow agonizing death.

I was thinking more along the lines of letting the plant and pitcher develop under the regular light conditions and then once it has opened up you introduce a second source of light directly onto the pitcher.

I love your photoshopage Red Lowii! Your avatar on proboards really makes me laugh out loud every time. I like that idea and found the thread you just linked to very interesting. I also have to ask, is the lowii in your avatar actually red like that? Or was that a photoshop? Sorry if thats an obvious answer..
