Dead heading pitchers

With flowering plants, dead heading means cutting off the spent or faded flowers from your plants. This lets the plant concentrate its energies on producing new flowers.

Is this the same for spent or dying pitchers? Will cutting off dying pitchers concentrate the plant on creating new ones or is it better to leave it on till it totally dies cause it still gets energy or food from a partial dead pitcher?

leave them on till they all turn brown because the plant is still getting its energy from the bugs but also from the "alive" part too...
