Always a newbie
ok can i use spaghnum peat for my Ventrata's. Also some of my pitchers are damaged (like cuts in the bottom) is it best just to cut them off? Thanks.

Peat moss is a NO NO unless you can lighten it up with some perlite or orchid bark. Shoot for using pure Sphagnum moss or do a mix of sphagnum moss, peat moss, perlite and orchid bark.

here are some pics

yes i have perilite in there so is it ok?

do i still need to cut off the damaged one?

You don't really need to cut it off, I leave mine on and eventually the tendril also dies and it just breaks off. Do the pitchers also photosynthesis?, cause if they do, you should cut off the brown and leave the green, like with sarrencia. As long as it's green, it's stil useful.

they do.

i leave everything untill it becomes brown and dry, i even leave the yellow parts.

ya i got a yellow leaf on mine

Nice plant! Make sure you get it enough light!
