Gnats & pill bugs in the soil

I was just feeding and watering my neps when I was checking one of them. I noticed that one of my newer neps has not formed any new pitchers (one was forming, but has withered away). While looking at it, I saw some "gnats" fly out of the soil and one of those "pill/armodillo (sp?) bugs". The gnats are not "fruit flies", but something about their size. Any advice on how to get rid of them? Are they the culprits? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

the easiest way is just to change the soil

you can sterilize your next soil by soaking it in very hot water for about an hour or just thoroughly wash it... hope this helps and good luck

I thought pill bugs only ate dead plant material?

Utrics can help a little. Just get ones that can tolerate more terrestrial, ephithetic conditions.
