Basal concern

glider14

Always a newbie
Ok so finally i got everything situated and I noticed that my ventratas basal shoot has a thin black line going down it. I have two ideas of what this could be...1. new leaf sprouting(most likely) or 2. fungal/ bactrial/ etc. thing. I am almost absolutly sure its a new leaf, but just to be sure I need to know... also how do I know if a developing pitcher is "doomed"?
thanks,
glider

Doesn't look like anything to worry about, it looks like the marks from that part of the leaf rubbing against something. Or a bug could have had a bit of a nibble. Unless it starts spreading, I wouldn't worry about it.

Your plant looks healthy--once in a while a leaf will have some marks or be deformed. I wouldn't worry too much.
