leaf question

why would my leaves be turning a red now that i'e been giving more light? it's growing like crazy and the leaves are thicker but are turning red. are they supposed to be this way?

What species do you have?

i've posted pics several times but noone knows because it refuses to pitcher. from what most think it's probably N. miranda, but that's just a guess

should turn back to green after it adjusts to higher light level. if it stays like that its still ok but watch out for dead zones, thats a problem...

If its N.miranda it should get a little rost color on the leaves..No worries..If you could send a pic of the leaves it would be good

what's a dead zone? i'll get some pics here in a bit so you can see them

The leaves of some of my plants turn reddish under strong light. If the light is too strong, the leaves will develop spots of dead tissue on the upper surface.

The leaves of many Nepenthes species naturally turn red when exposed to intense sunlight.  Here is a plant of N. rafflesiana growing out in the open in Bako National Park.

As you can see all the leaves are a dark red, as opposed to N. rafflesiana plants growing in more shady conditions, which usually have green leaves.
