I just need roooooom!! You guys are so mean!!

cheers
well i should be picking more up tomorrow! yes, more plants! heres my list!:

N. alata (f) - large
N. alata (m) - large
N. maxima-dark x truncata - small
N. sibuyanensis x ventricosa-red giant - small
N. tivei x (northiana x veitchii)- small

some of them even if they say small are a not that small. the N. tivei x (northiana x veitchii) says small but nate got like a 2 foot diameter plant!
smile_k_ani_32.gif

my main reason for this order was to get the alatas! they say large but you know how fast alata grows! it may even be a bush or something!

Hello,
pardon my ignorance, is that L or S sized truncata x lowii?
it looks small for an L (considering thats AUD80) but large for an S!
but definitely beautiful!
thanks

N. sibuyanensis x truncata...look at the unusual appendage at the bottom of the peristome; I have never seen this before (even the photo on Exotica's website doesn't show this feature):

Here you go Santos:

p_ventricosa_xx_clipeata_x_ventricosa_4.jpg

p_ventricosa_xx_clipeata_x_ventricosa_5.jpg

These are all from 1 plant...there is noticable difference in coloring on individual pitchers.

  • #97
yeah i guess youre right! here are the plants that i have....

the first one that i got...
76899113O603340835.jpg

76899155O967384359.jpg

then the new one...
91283055O744903720.jpg

91283344O258638911.jpg

well i think it turns out that the brown one follows after the clip because of the brown. the other one has more of a ventricosa color but that one has a very domed lid, the brown one doesnt have one as much...

  • #98
Do you know if these were seed grown?  Still, the varience on the same plant makes me think pitcher age and light levels are at play.

Your 2 plants definitely look different though...

  • #99
Most likely seed grown, but these all seem more alike, than different. I agree that lighting and age makes a big difference on color, but I think there is also some genetics going on here as I've never seen a red pitcher go brown until it was dying. Here's a pic of mine
EP2052.jpg

Here's the type of differences you can see with seed grown plants. My 3 vent x TM from the previous order:
P1000032.jpg

and this order:
EP2065.jpg

and just to contrast mine fro mthe previous order with Mike's new plants:
(stenophylla x lowii) x (Rokko x veitchii)
P1000104.jpg

and ventricosa x (spectabilis x northiana) - love that orange

Great photos Steve; they really do look different...this contributes to the Nep obsession...you really never know what to expect next.
