I was checking on my N. x edinensis's basal shoot and I noticed on the latest node there seems to be like a green thing protuding, so far the basal has 7 leaves. Is this a basal shoot or something else and I thought basals only form on woody stems?
Perhaps a root? It could be another shoot - my edinensis usually makes leaders in pairs or triples. And sometimes dormant nodes stick out a little, I think.
