Anyone fill their pitchers?

This lady at my job tells me to fill the pitchers of my neps with water. Is this good or bad? I have not tried it yet so let me know.

You can squirt a little water in the pitchers when you get a new plant in the mail(as the probably have no fluid in them) to keep them from drying out, but filling them with water would dilute the digestive properties of the pitcher fluid, otherwise, I would think.

Cheers,

Joe

I do fill my pitchers about 1/3 of the way with good water when the pitcher fluid spills out or evaporates. This seems to make the pitchers last longer and doesn't hurt the plant.

I thought the only pitcher plant that hobbyists fill with water is an S. purpurea. Otherwise, it isn't generally necessary. But as Joe says, it is probably a good idea to do so to combat shipping shock.
