One short month on vacation in Europe, and what do I return home to? A country song!

"Somebody stole my woman, smashed all my steel guitars,
he emptied all my whiskey kegs, then took off in my car.
But all that just don't matter, 's long's my pitcher plants do well,
Yeah, all that just don't matter, 's long's my pitcher plants do well."

Hah! Sorry, still jetlagged.

August was brutally hot here in Taiwan (occasionally up to 38 C), but some of the plants still managed to thrive.

Here's how some of my babies welcomed me back:

My dial up despises you! I'm writing and the pictures are still coming through. Oh yeah... great looking plants!

Sorry, I keep forgetting that some of us still dial up...but it's not much more than the 10 pix allowed over at CPUK, and none of them's bigger than 85 KB

Don't they have DSL in your neck of the jungle?

With cordial greetings from the most wired city on the planet

Of course we/they do! I'm using a broadband connection right now. MY computer is a dinosaur. The church computer is an impala!

Nice! It's always fun coming back home after being away for a while, since you get to see a whole bunch of new growth.

Indeed! Unfortunately, also a whole bunch of new and previously unimagined damage (how did the *&^%$!! snails get onto my *&^%$!! rooftop??)

Bah! That really sucks! I hope you can get rid of them.
