N. x Mixta 'Superba'

Dave S.

NECPS President
Here are two peristome photos of two different pitchers on
my N. x Mixta 'Superba' that was given to me by Kirk
(kirkwmartin on terraforums). I was suprised to receive this
plant as a free 2 node cutting in 2003 during a NECPS meeting.
I remember that there was no basal shoot on Kirk's plant at the
time of the cutting. The plant I have now is now nearly 4 feet
across and sits in my office lowland chamber under LED lights.

Wow....very cool(pretty, neat, whatever tickles you)

I will grow nepenthes.....eventually...

Cool, makes me want to stick my finger inside it lol.

Dave, I remember that plant from the show! If I'm right, isn't that the one with that awesome magenta coloration on the pitchers?

I love it! Absolutely beautiful!!

sometimes, some peristome looks like candy. i just want to go

chomp!

I know what you mean, unfortunatley they probably don't taste like any candy...or do they? Lee, you and I should start up a gourmet nepenthes tasters club...now that's fancy lol.

Wow, I absolutely love how its "lips" flare out like that. Striking colors, too. :)

"Recent studies in the field suggest that this particular species may have moved away from a solely (or even primarily) carnivorous nature and be adapted to "catching" animal droppings, especially those of birds and tree shrews." -wikipedia.org
