Using just live LFS

Ok to get it to grow and keep growing it needs to stay wet right. If you let it dry out then it gets bad. So there are places that use just that to pot neps, helis, and some others. My question is would it be good to use it only for a medium for the whole pot? Would it rot out say a hamata or heli if the whole pot was just all a patch of live green moss?

There is no real need for solely using live LFS. You can use all LFS, but only the top portion should be live because anything below the surface will not receive light and will die off anyway. Even if you use a netted basket, the live LFS in the center of the pot will eventually die off as well. I would save the live LFS for other plants as a topdressing only.
