Just when things were going well BANG

Hey guys, just a quick question; as you know, I have been trying to get my nepenthes to grow and it seemed everything was growing well... I even had new pitchers coming and opening, not aborting for once. However, the other day when I was outside I noticed a few brown splotches similar to the ones shown in the thread a few below this one. After a closer look I found what looked like scale, but more orange than the typical brown I'm use to seeing. There is only a few, but I want to fix the problem before it gets out of hand. What is safe to use to kill them off. I don't like my chances of getting neem oil and will thus have to reply on something more readily available. Ideas?
