Thanks everyone. I'd love to see any of your qoh x kos as well even if they're not as big it would be cool to see how much variation shows up in this cross and how the plants develop over time.

@ Brie
I have had it just over a year but I'm guessing it is probably about two years old if not older since I'm sure BE had them in their possesion for a while and I know the vendor I purchased it from had the plant for a couple months before I bought it.

@Exo
I'm thinking it looks like it might take after it's daddy as well. I'm kind of hoping it will get that crazy peristome of its mothers but I think it will be more like its dad which still has a respectable peristome and is even darker than the mom. I can't wait to see how other peoples plants turn out. I have already seen other more squat pitchers with flared peristomes on others plants that look like they should take after the mother. I think there should be quite a few gems out of this cross. I almost wish I had another but I suppose space will be an issue one day with how massive truncs can get.

A pillow for your plant. Why doesn't this surprise me?

It's a pillow... it's a plant!
... It's a PILLOW PLANT! :-))

(those who watch TV get the joke.)

I have been on vacation in Denver for a little over a week but it is always nice to come home, especially to a surprise like this. I upgraded it to a bigger pot before I left and it looks like it was just in time (except for being closer to the light leaving some red spots on the leaves) . I guess it was just saving up all that time it refused to pitcher.

This pic doesn't quite show the size difference since the smaller pitcher is closer to the camera but it is significant.

@Kristoff
I love the speckling your pitchers show. I look forward to your updates!

Mine is just now producing normal leaves, albeit slowly. Now if only it'll pitcher.

Can't wait till mine gets to be a good size! I've got a little pitcher on the way at the moment :D

  • #151
That is the biggest, nicest black truncata baby anywhere, Neps N Things! I might have a pitcher brewing that might be open upon my return.

  • #152
Looks very, very good. I can't believe how big yours is. I got mine from the first batch released in the US, and it's barely 4" across, making 3" pitchers. Grows so darn slow... It will be a long time yet til it's the size of yours, but seeing how good it looks will make the wait worth it.

ok so i thought i would update mine , it has been quite a while since i was on the forum , but thought you guys would like to see how mine is doing , not nearly as nice as neps, but starting to come along.
it is still in its beginner 3" pot. and i coffeed it a few months back and now am growing it on my grow shelf under just t-8 lighting at normal heat pump conditions around 74 degrees all the time. might be a bit high on the humidity but only about 50 to 60 percent.

Nice, nice nice. I missed out on a Black trunc AND a wavy leaf maxima on ebay yesterday... it went for $50 and I would've bid except I had to go out... stupid Walmart and needing school supplies!

That wouldn't be funny except it was my brother who ended up winning that, pretty good deal.

Here is my lil guy still needing to color up.

Thought I'd post an update. I've been away at school and left the parents in charge. S/he's still doing pretty well but hasn't been growing quite as quickly as in my care. I think I'll have to adjust the light a bit and tell the parents not to water quite as much. Anyway here are some pics of the pitchers (sorry for the cell phone quality).
