Hello I was thinking about doing a cutting a plant or 2 just wanted to know if any one has ever used agar to start the roots I know ppl use it to start seeds but would it work for cuttings tout is mostly water and you could mix rooting hormones in with it
You'd be far better off with a conventional rooting hormone product such as Rootone or Clonex, rather than -- what you seem to be describing -- a tissue culture media. Also, TC media usually involves a good amount of sugar to sustain the explant or seed, about 30 grams per liter; though it is kept under airtight, aseptic conditions. Such exposure with the cuttings would just invite a bloom of mold and/or fungus . . .
