I left this plant (ventricosa red x carunculata robusta) outside during my trip to Denver and while I was gone temps in Kansas were 100+ degrees everyday with some days reaching 110-111. I think all the heat stressed it out and caused it to flower. The only problem is that the flower is looking pretty sickly and is quite small and I'm not sure if it will make it all the way to opening (I'm pretty sure the growth tip is already a gonner) so I can get a positive gender id. Since others in the community have always been better than me at determining gender I thought I would post a pic and see any of you can tell. Hopefully it will at least continue to grow a bit more and if it does get any bigger I will post another pic of it further developed to have a better chance at an id. I wouldn't really worry about it since I'm not really looking for seeds from it right now in it's stressed state but it is the plants first flower and it would be nice to know the gender for future reference.
