Jumpstarting Inermix x Bongos

I got this plant 4-6 months ago and it has not done much of anything for me. It looks very much like it did when I first received the plant; it has put out a few leaves but has not even thought about inflating a pitcher.

Conditions: Grown in a basement with a variety of Neps and Heliamphora. Upper 60's at night to upper 70's during the day. No humidifier. I did not repot when I got this plant, I think its in 100% LFSM. Lighting is from T8 shop lights approximately 14 inches above the plant.

I'm trying to figure out what to do to get this plant going. I was thinking of repotting and moving to a shelf with stronger lights (would be 3-6 inches from the top of the plant). I don't want to fertilize the plant while it's not happy but I was thinking of trying coffee or tea.

Here's a picture (the brown leaf in the back is just a leaf from lower on the stem that has curled up, it's not anywhere near the growth point)

I'm guessing your problems are humidity, and temps. It's a cross between two HL plants so i'm thinking high humidity and cool temps are needed for it to good.

I'd put it in a plastic baggy to up the humidity. That helps me out sometimes.

I'd say it looks like it needs cooler temps, as mentioned above they are both highland Nepenthes. My N. inermis gets 65-75*F days and 40-50*F nights and 80-90% humidity and I have no problems with pitchering or full leaf development (yours do not look like the leaves have fully developed). If you get it into cool temps you can get it to develop properly and grow well, if you leave it in too warm of temps it will eventually die.

You won't hurt anything repotting it at this point, it's not happy anyway. Also repotting will give you an idea of what's going on in the root area. No sense fertilizing for now, it's the temps which are throwing it off, not a lack of nutrients.

Thanks for the input guys! I forgot to mention that I have grow purebred inermis for over a year and it does not have problems with pitchering - it's about the same size as the inermis x bongoso. I also have a purebred bongoso which is really fast for me but I have only had it for a few months. All of the plants are in the same conditions besides light intensity - the purebreeds are much closer to the lights than the hybrid.

In that case definitely check out those roots. I always repot if I get one already potted, I never trust other peoples soil, even if it looks like what I use. The few times I have been lazy and left plants in the pots they came in they didn't fare as well as those who got repotted right off. I've even lost a couple and found their potting mix they were shipped in was too compacted deep inside the pot and suffocated the roots.

Media looks a bit wet.. other than that, you need to drop your night temps a little bit. Should be fine after that.
