Hey, I wanted to ask you how you're growing that Ampullaria. Are you keeping it in a terrarium? I did a trade with a friend and he give me a very small N. ampullaria 'Harlequin' yesterday evening. I've been keeping it frequently misted but I haven't found a good spot for it. It's very small right now, only two inches in diameter and it has no pitchers.

My friend seems to think it would do okay on a windowsill but I'm getting conflicting care advice when I search around various sites. Some say high humidity is an absolute requirement and to avoid any direct sunlight until the plant gets larger. Other sites say windowsill light is okay and that the plant can adapt to lower humidity. I have a windowsill at my place where several pitcher plants thrive (N. miranda, N. ventrata, N. alata and a Cephalotus).

What is the advice of the nep experts. I've been thinking about putting the plant in a glass jar but I'm afraid the late afternoon sunlight that the window receives would cook the plant. Maybe if I left the lid open?

Mine experiences very bright indirect sunlight in a windowsill terrarium. The temps can easily climb above 90 and the humidity is about 90-100% all the time. It sits in a veyr small amount of water. It has grown from 3.5" to 12" in leaf span in three months with these conditions and heavy feeding.
