Thanks! The tall purple one is an unknown hybrid from Leilani Nepenthes Nursery. If I had to put money on it, I would guess "alata, lrg. peristome x clipeata" or "tobaica x clipeata." The later of the two grexes Sam said failed, but you never know ;-) I just like to call it 'Purple Haze'

I grow Sam's N. 'Kona' and it has the dark alata as a parent. It looks very similar to traits that the "purple haze" hybrid shows, although I'm not seeing clipeata in there at all. What makes you think that it's a parent? Either way the hybrid is gorgeous! If I had to guess I'd say that dark alata as a mom and maybe sanguinea as the dad. Cheers!

Yeah I never would've guessed it; but I cheated ;-) I've got some photos of the grex, and this looks like it only darker. I hope to visit Leilani soon and will check out how they have progressed.

loving the almost Burbidgeae-like colors on this one, it's been open for awhile and was even lighter before
'Caesarion' - 'Caesar' x Veitchii - (Merrilliana x Truncata) x Veitchii

Wow! Your Caesarion is so big already! Mine are still only about 2-3 inches across. I like what I see though, can't wait for mine to get bigger :)
I also love the Courage! It's a giant albomarginata!

I second that on the 'Courage' plant, the color and size are fantastic! The tricolor pattern on the inside is something I'm not sure I've seen before.

Thanks! yeah, the pitcher is actually longer than it looks in the photo, I tilted it so you could see the inside, very camouflage-like.

I've got 4 Caesarions, two very small and two bigger. The small ones really didn't like the extreme light levels this summer (20% shade cloth w light from noon on) while the two bigger ones just loved it and went crazy with growth. I added some 70% shade cloth and now they are all making huge leaves but slightly smaller pitchers. I'm probably going to keep the shade cloth up for another few weeks but after that summer heat should be much less, and I'm sure the big ones will appreciate it.

N. Lorraine is my fave! All gorgeous plants. Seems you may have a "weed" problem in your Sarracenia ;-)

Yeah, Lorraine is a stunner; I think that pitcher is actually starting to show intermediate traits, as the plant has started vining.

I got a few binata root cuttings, didn't expect for all of them to take and go crazy. Even had a bad caterpillar attack where they ate the tops off almost all of them... well, the tops all fell down into the medium... and now babies are coming up everywhere... nature finds a way!

Very nice sarrs! Do you winter them in the fridge or does it get cold enough where you are? I haven't had much success growing them myself, so I'd be curious to know :)

This is why 'Lorraine' is one of my favorite man-made hybrids! It's so freakin pretty!.
