New lights cause one particular problem...serious issues finding a good angle and lighting to catch the colors I want. The peristome on this thing is flushing crimson

Serious promise on this one...with quite the sudden size jump from the last one, and a whole lot of physical appearance change with it

Months go by and it doesn't move an inch...move it a foot and a half to a shelf that's 5 inches lower, and suddenly burb x platy explodes with growth

Funny about the Burb x Platy. I found that my own was incredible slow while it was less than 4 inches in diameter. But now that it is a bit larger it has sped up. I have generally kept it in lower light than some other plants since it got bigger... I wonder if that had to do anything with it.

The plants look great, and I am excited to see where your own cross goes. Looks like it will have some great color!
    Have a wonderful day!

Size has nothing to do with it; I lost a couple much larger plants before for unknown reasons after they just started to shrink, and this one was growing fine at first where it was, then stalled out due to bad soil but didn't move after repotting (which was over 8 months ago), until now... and lighting probably isn't a factor, since both shelves are very bright and the light it was under previously is still reaching it somewhat.

I haven't looked in your thread for a while but I'm glad there's some (thor x campy) x platy that sprouted and are doing well out there! I gave my girl a pretty serious haircut a couple years back but she's just about getting big enough to bloom regularly again. Can't wait to make more campy hybrids!
