Let's dedicate a thread to the smaller, less flamboyant neps

chibae

An orchid fancier with a CP problem
Forget nasty teeth, forget uber wide peristomes, forget pitchers big enough to wash a kitten in. We need a thread dedicated to the smaller, easier to house, more elegant nepenthes species. Species that show beginners that yes, they too can grow these plants without investing in a walk-in grow room. That tells beginners that yes, not all species have to rival Las Vegas show girls to deserve our attention. And that yes, in some cases small can be even more beautiful than large.
Ladies and gentlemen, peeps of all ages. I shall start off our show with one of the most beautiful, yet elegant of all nepenthes species, N. Glabrata.

Hopefully those count lol... :p

Beautiful neps, but nope, don't count. They all get too big. LOL

I hope these ones be small enough

Gorgeous plants everyone!
Just out of curiosity Pineapple, did you get your alata off of Ebay?
Good Growing,
Kenny

Ah the mystical store you mention in your videos.

I like the idea of this thread :)
Are you going only for small species, or just for small specimens, or both?
Anyway, here's a couple I have. Most are older photos, but will have to do for now:

Since glabrata seems popular on here:

N. gracilis...I need to get a pic of my spotted form too!
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/68248217@N04/8292457969/" title="053 by richjam1986, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8353/8292457969_0331f2332f.jpg" width="375" height="500" alt="053"></a>

Maybe borderline for this thread, but the pitchers on this plant don't get very big (...at least not with my clone. This is about as big as they get. plus its a very compact growing species)
N. ventricosa:
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/68248217@N04/6949581210/" title="066 by richjam1986, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7065/6949581210_ea7d865b2b.jpg" width="375" height="500" alt="066"></a>

This thread is making me wish my glabrata hadn't gone from pitchering constantly to pouting for months after I changed its conditions.

Thanks :) Yeah, I love this ventricosa clone. It may be a while before I take cuttings, but feel free to remind me that you're interested and I can update you on when I might take cuttings.

I think we're off to a great start. My idea for the thread is for neps that stay small, at least for neps

I can't wait for my aristo x belli to settle down and start making pitchers bigger than half an inch long. Fully inflated but tiny, even by my standards. I could fit four of them into a glabrata pitcher.
