It's one of those species that looks plump when viewed from side on and skinny from the front or back, a bit like N. boschiana
It's hard to get decent lowlanders, pretty much no alternative but to enter the lottery and grow them from seed. Good thing is patience wise they are far more rewarding, some of those ampullaria's you saw are only 1.5 - 2 years old. I have some HL seedlings that are 5 years that are 1/4 of that size.
