Moss Species

I didn't get any responses to my inquiry on the "Miscellaneous Plants" about the species name for a moss I brought inside so my granddaughter can watch it green up. You guys seem to be pretty good putting names to non-nep species so hopefully someone can take a look on that forum?

Moss identification can be very difficult. Try posting here:

Include a close-up photo as well as information on just where you found it -- state, & environment (woods, meadow, lawn; on rocks or soil or tree stump; full sun, heavy shade; et cetera)

Thanks, I'll check all of that out, hate having a plant with no name especially since she and I will be collecting moss from the wild this Spring. My usual searches like Kansas Moss or Kansas Plants turned up nothing and even though the Kansas plant sites include ferns they neglect to mention moss.
