Bical Rescue

Hi all,

Got this bical almost four months ago. It was in a peaty mix, bone dry, with almost no roots and half of the leaves cracked at the stem. No pitchers.

It's slowly recovering, I think. It's outside in south Florida, 50 to 90F, pure LFS, one hour of morning sun followed by bright shade. Anyway, it opened its first new leaf in four months! The pitcher tip seems healthy too!

Looks like it's doing better now. Also what's the shiny purple thing?

looks great! you will soon be dealing with a palm tree with fangs.

That's Strobilanthes dyeriana (Persian shield) - I'm rooting cuttings.
