Nepenthes care

I took a chance and decided to purchase my first nepenthes. Lady luck. It's a small plant 2" diameter. I think it looked great coming in. It was wrapped in long strand sphagnum. I took the sphagnum off and planted in Canadian sphagnum and sand mixture 50:50.

The top portion seemed to have died off and the leaves are curling downward. It sits facing south. I recently moved my rosemary to cover it to give it some shade. It probably get direct light for 3-6 hours. I have not timed it. Remind you I live in central Florida. Anything would help!!!

Way too much light! Move to bright shade.

Hey,
Congrats on the new Lady Luck!
My bit of feedback will focus on your substrate. Neps like some air to get to the roots, I feel that a mix of sand and spahag may condense too much and not allow enough air to reach the roots. But yes, check out these 2 care guides to help you on your Nep adventure!

I agree. I use straight long Fibered Sphagnum Moss with my Neps.

Mine are under lights.

A new baby plant may need to be bagged and gradually get used to lower humidity as well. Mine are all in a little Greenhouse for now.

Thank you, I did change to orchid bark\ long fiber mix. I didn't see this notification until I got out of mobile mode 😂. It's weak but I'm hoping it'll live

Lady luck! Must be some luck

So this nepenthes I had turned into a brown stick. Told myself I had changed it too quick from package to media. So I took a chance and stuck it into some orchid mix and sphagnum and 😱 OMG green stuff sprouting!!!!!!!

Congradulations, keep it lit and watered and you should see some pitchers in a few months time.
