    Nepenthes Mapuluensis

Recently I had the chance to join in on an expedition to go find Nepenthes Mapuluensis, a species that has been seen only rarely over the past few decades.

The habitat for Mapuluensis was relatively shaded with a very shallow soil.

Pitcher samples collected by our guides from nearby peaks showed that the species is capable of getting even larger.

Very cool! It looks like what I would imagine a hybrid between N. bongso and spectabilis would look like. Did you find any plants with uppers?

Yeah, there were a few plants with uppers on a higher part of the peak, but I did not go up to get any photos of those.
