I recently took this closeup shot of the underside of the
operculum of an upper N. lowii pitcher, and thought
that it might interest those who have not seen such a thing
in person. This variety of the species is from G. Mulu, BTW.
The thick, white exudate for which this species is so well
known is clearly visible. I've heard it tastes like lemon
sherbet, but have not had the inclination to taste it for
some reason....
