Excellent as usual. This time my favorites are the N. glabrata and of course the N. aristolochioides. Always the N. aristolochioides!

Incredible. Love the burbidgeae, maxima and hamata, as well as the robustness of all your plants!

Hi Mr Trusedell,

I have some questions for you..
smile.gif

First, the diatas looks very nice, interesting how different the plant looks with just a change in the peristome color.

Is your hamata from Tony, or is it from somewhere else? If you'd prefer, you can PM me on that one.

Can you share more about N. glabrata? Does it grow quickly, does it require anything special? I understand that it is a compact grower, but I don't know much else about it (might even be wrong about that..)

Also, do you grow N. bellii? Any thoughts on it? I'm trying to pick out a nice lowlander to fill out my lowland terrarium.

Excellent shots Dustin!

I'll tack on another few questions, how big is that N. burbidgeae plant altogether and that pitcher in the photo? Mine is about 12-15 cm and has 6 cm pitchers but they're not colorful at all. The leaves reddened upon arrival so I should be seeing at least some patterns by now... shouldn't I?

My N. spectabilis (Gunnung Bandahara form-the "giant" form of course!) hasn't made any pitchers yet, nice to see what I'll get when it settles in!

Hi
Great photos & plant setup.

I find that the first few burbidgeae pitchers largely remain white with few markings. But as soon as they start to get a bit bigger they colour up beautifully!

Heres my 3 year old plant and a pitcher from last year. Size about 8/9cm.

Swords:

Here is mine, not sure if I have the same variety of spectabilis (lost the tag

).

I have found this plant to be the easiest to grow of my highland plants. It pitchered even when I was not providing night time cooling. Now that I am providing cool nights, better lighting, and feeding, I'm expecting it to take off.

I wish this shot was looking down more, the plant looks very happy, but its hard to tell in this pic. The leaves are a nice reddish color, too.

Well, first off a group Thank you for all the wonderful compliments.

Personal answers:

Pat, the N. diatas was an unusual form Tony had so i grabbed it, of course with his permission, just wanted to mkae sure he had another for his own keeping.

The N. hamata is indeed from Mr. Tony. It's Malesiana's clone and certainly IMHO the blackest variety I've seen so far.

The N. glabrata is a clone from Wistuba is very fast grower, as well as quite compact and is proving a strong grower, I have a basal rosette forming on mine and will soon have cuttings I anticipate by this mid to late summer and if something happens, early fall.

N. bellii, I do not cultivate yet, but all I know about it is that it is extremely sensitive to transplanting and if a plant needs it, procede with extreme care. I plan to expand my lowland collection as soon as I have a larger growchamber!

Josh, My N. burbidgeae has no red leaves just a very nice deep green, but mine does have a very prominent red to orangish midrid and almost a tranlucent tendril. The N. spectabilis is a very giant form, I've seen a much larger plant that Tony has and the pitchers were around 15cm tall and around 8cm wide, so it is indeed a very large plant, it seems to vine VERY early, or at least mine is, it only has 2 inch tall pitchers and the stem is already 4inches tall and scrambling.

Bill, nice plant! That's a very pink colored N. burbidgeae, should be very pretty if it retains that color into adulthood.

Pat again, yes I think you also have the G. badahara form. Mine look exactly the same, except for the purplish throat tint.

Very cool pics. I especially like the N. inermis.

I also wanted to make sure no one missed these recent additions.

Ah, the lure of N. inermis is as potent to the fly as to collectors.

Nep G, I think this is the fourth plant you have convinced me to buy.
