I'll have loads of pollen soon, so if you want some for a cross let me know and I'll send some for your lucky gal.

Hi Dustin,

how about the smell of dead mice in your GH? Three weeks ago I met a friend at a local meeting who had cut off his N. truncata male flower due to this ugly smell.

Cheers Joachim

That pic kinda looks like four hands pressed together.

Hey Joachim, actually I've been waiting for the smell that is supposedly quite unpleasable. Nothing yet...of course only 3 flowers are open, another 70 to go! lol

Probably won't smell much until the sepals reflex and the pollen ripens.. that's when the plant is most interested in attracting attention

Is that a bad thing? Good thing I'm not a female grower!

I posted in the trading forum. I don't know whether my rokko is M or F, but if it is a female, I would love to have little N. x rokko x truncatas. That is, if you still have pollen and want to give some more away.

Regards,
JA

Hamata, so far I only have 1 request for pollen. I have loads more to go around. Only thing I DO request when I send pollen to someone who does a cross is that I get 50% of the seeds, since I donated 50% of the genetic information. But yes, i would be more than happy to send some pollen if you would like to attempt a cross, providing your rokko is female.

That would be great. As soon as I know, I will let you know if I want some pollen the moment I determine the sex of my nep. N x rokko x truncata would be a pretty nice plant.

Anyways, just curious, what is the biggest pitcher you've had on your truncata? Mine is just starting to put out monster pitchers (1 foot after a 7 inch pitcher on the second to last leaf.)

Thanks,

JA

Biggest pitchers were produced briefly in late late summer as the plant had adapted to the greenhouse and it made around 1 foot tall pitchers. This year should be stunning since its been in the greenhouse about 1 year now.
