wow! thats cool, I wish my backyard was big enough that I could have a bigger greenhouse, but this'll do for me right now, I wish I could see your greenhouse, my inermis is starting to vine right now, should still be a few years before it has upper pitchers though
About the pic of the flower, I DO have manual focus, but I find it easier to auto focus with the macro lenses on....that is +17 diopters worth of power a +10 and a +7 lens. Just zoom in to the magnification you desire and physically focus so the auto focus doesn't lag too much. I will manual focus if I want REALLY fine details like on Drosera flower parts or Drosera leaves, when I'm using the tripod for that. I also use the IR remote to trip the shutter, blurr free pics! For this pic I used my good old shooting posture on a sunny day. As long as shutter speed and F-stop values are high I can take these ultra macros freehand. I generally like to see a shutter speed of around 100 or better (200 ideally I find) and F-stops of around 5.0 and higher.
Max, good eye but bad guess!
Its an N. sibuyanensis! Vaguely similar to N. mira. I find N. sibuyanensis has a less toothy peristome than N. mira, no hirsutness whereas N. mira does and of course its lance shaped leaves. I've got a few more pics to share as well.
Hi Kirk, the Sarracenia is a plain ole S. flava var. rugellii....er....a variant of rugellii what was told to me.
The greenhouse structure itself cost around $500, the glavanzied hoops were given to me from a friend of mine who owns a seasonal nursury (biggest in the area up here). But if I were to buy it myself, it would have been around $1500 or more I would imagine.
Hello "nepenthes gracilis"!
Fine pictures of your greenhouse!
The only detail you have not told us is how tall are your Nep.
Inermis Plants! Which high must reach the Inermis plant to make upper pitchers like yours?
Let me know,thanks! Bye!
I noticed that you have some artificial flourescent lights in the greenhouse. Just wondering, have you had any problems with rust or operation under high humidity?
