Id needed

Hi, I needed ID for something which I thought was mirabillis 'red' some time ago, but the "identify that plant" section seems quite quiet. It is a mother of a hybrid and several more hybrids-to-be.
Please help

This is a plant which is the father-to-be. I thought it should be Miranda, but cannot confirm it...and dont want to since I heard that Miranda is "firing blanks" (in his words)

Ok, here are some better pics.
What I assumed was Miranda

Leaves of "mirabilis" I have doubts about this... they dont look at all like the echinostoma leaves

In "nepenthes of Borneo", C. Clarke writes about Mirabilis inflorescence having 15cm peduncle and 30cm rachis, cylindrical throughout. but here, the peduncle looks longer!

Thanks in advance!
