Hi,

recently did a cross between xcoccinea X mirabilis 'red'
All went well fortunately and now the fruits are quite ripe. It took the fruit 6-7weeks to ripen the last time I crossed this with gracilis, now is the 6th week of this xcoccinea cross, so need more experienced breeders to help me . I really dont want the bottom few pods to split before I rush the TC, (which happened last time) because I noticed the older fruits at the bottom are usually the most vigorous growers...

heres the pic, seams have appeared, but it still looks rather green right?

and heres a cool pic, with the upper few flowers of inflorescence pollinated with coccinea and lower half with xmiranda. I was told miranda was infertile...I still went ahead with the cross, just for curiosity sake...

All the best to your new hybrid! Should be cool!

That doesn't look ripe to me. I wait until they turn brown, but perhaps I am waiting too long?
