Genlisea cutting

johnnyfrye

I like drosera.
My friend had a colony of Genlisea, and cut out part of it and gave it to me. I put it in a small pot filled with organic sphagnum peat moss, and put the pot in a tray with water. I know NOTHING about caring for Genlisea, and I need to know how to grow them. Do they need humidity? What about watering? And do they have dormancy???? ???

why dont you just ask your friend?

Genlisea is a tropical so no dormancy, if you have terrestrial utrics then grow them like that.

He is in away on a trip ro the weekend.

As far as I can tell, Genlisea like to be in pots of waterlogged peat with high humidity. Getting them set up to see their roots is difficult.

Deep and wide pots, waterlogged, with good lighting. Then sit back and wait until next year. You may see flowers.
