those kinds of things are just "fad" medicines..
they do nothing except make you poorer and someone else richer.
its modern day "snake oil"..its still alive and well.

you would be much better off, and far happier, using the money you spend on the extract and buying REAL VFT's instead!

Don't be surprised if you notice flies getting stuck on you.

And 6 months from now she will begin the process of dormacy. She'll look like "death warmed over".

Wonder what'll happen if she begins to flower? Will she live?

OK that says they stuck the whole plant in there. So as long as I dont use fungicide or insecticide I can take a bite out of my VFT's? Maybe stick them in a salad? I wonder if red dragons taste different?

Actually, I meant "it's for me" when Jimscott asked, "is that for you or the plant?" as in it's an extract made for humans, from the plant.

Personally, I would never purchase nor consume such a thing after having lovingly cultivated a mini zoo of them.

Dionaea are too cute in my eyes and there are other more readily available, not endangered plants that can be used to help the immune system.

If so, I too believe this particular extract is "snake oil".

So you are right, I would be happier spending the money acquiring more Dionaea and Dionaea care objects!

Don't be quick to judge this as snake oil. I remember reading something where they were looking at the chemical composition of VFT for posible medicinal uses. Not knowing what this is intended to do I wouldn't buy it, but that doesn't mean it will not be the source of a new drug or compound. Remember asprin comes from a tree bark, and people used to chew on the bark to releave headaches. Now they extract the same asprin and put it into pills. they are looking at seacreatures for other drug possibilities. Thats why they are so excited to be doing more deep sea exploration. With new undiscovered cratures the possibilities are endless. So who knows snake oil today drug tomorrow. Maybe no one has ever thought to look there for the next cancer fighting drug. Never know. Just my 2 cents.

Dionaea extracts are being looked at for anti-cancer properties. Don't knock plant medicine so quickly, people. Their potential ability to help with cancer may be the thing that saves them, and other plants, in the wild.

Only if she is healthy. What I want to know is if she gets to claim her self as a new cultivar.
