I'm curious, is it natural for a VFT to start flowering now? In the dormancy season? Also, for dormancy, I live in San Diego, and when I put the VFT's in the refrigerator, do I put it bare-root, or full pot. Should they be moist? Thanks..

VFTs tend to flower at odd times of the year when not growing in the wild. They also bloom when in stress. Sort of a last ditch effort to propagate before they die. This late in the season I would cut off the flower stalk so that it can put more into the rhizome for the winter and get a better start next spring. There are several growers in California that leave their plants outside all year round. One of them will chime in here I'm sure, to share their growing techniques with you.
