Here is some VFT's crosses that are a little over a year old now. They were all planted at the same time and you can see how some of the plants are more vigorous then others. You can also see some have nicer trap color as well.
Next year I will be planting them in individual pots.
I do not give them dormancy for the first winter. I grow them inside by the window over winter.
Vater Araigne,
The crosses I have germinated (not all the crosses are shown in picture)
Red Dragon X Red Dragon
Big Mouth X Fang
Red Dragon X Dentate Traps
Dentate Traps X Red Dragon
Dentate Traps X Dentate Traps
Dentate Traps X Typical
Big Mouth X Big Mouth
I do have some others which I did not even plant any seeds of because of space limitations.
So In the picture from left to right:
Columns 1&2 Red Dragon × Dentate Traps
Column 3 I cant read the second but I'm assuming Big Mouth × Fang
Column 4 Dentate Traps × Typical
Columns 5 & 6 Big Mouth × Big Mouth
Am I correct? The only thing I am positive I'm reading correctly is TYP.
Plan on orphaning any of them?
duckking,
I grow them outside and let them enjoy the sunlight.
Vater Araigne,
Columns 1 & 2 - Red Dragon × Dentate Traps
Column 3 - Dentate Traps × Dentate Traps
Column 4 - Dentate Traps × Typical
Columns 5 & 6 - Big Mouth × Big Mouth
I did not post a pic of the Red Dragon X Red Dragon and Big Mouth X Fang. They are tiny compared to the VFT's that I posted.
If you look closely at the first 2 columns which has the Red Dragon × Dentate Traps, you might be able to see the 3 small all red plants. They are hard to see as they blend into the moss.
