Nice trap! Is that a Jaws VFT?

Waooo~ What a beautiful trap. Amazing !!
Thanks for your sharing dear friend. Thanks~

wow! Very nice trap! Very big... Looks like you have tons of VFT's in the background!

I got a handful of VFT in the mail not too long ago. I ordered "Jaws" but it turned out that some of them were a different unknown cultivar. The plant in the foreground is most certainly jaws though.

There are flytraps that are selling from a nursery that are listed as "Jaws Grex" . This is incorrect as the flytrap does not have ANY jaws in it whatsoever, It is a flytrap called Big Jaws, which is not related to "Jaws" and is probably crossed with "Dente".
The seeds of this plant were sent to a tissue lab 2 years ago by me in the hopes of producing a very large growing flytrap commercially and should not have been released to this nursery without my knowledge.
At any rate please do not label this plant as "Jaws" as it will be incorrect.

Cultivar naming rules get a little hazy with VFT enthusiasts eh?

Not sure if this is part of the Jaws cultivar description but in your last picture I see mini teeth in between the big teeth. "jaws" is the only cultivar I've ever noticed that on.

This is what "Jaws" looks like. Please note the reflexed and 'toothy" cilia

This is a picture of "Big Jaws" again, not related to "Jaws" also to give a size perspective, the plant is growing in a 6" pot

Hey Mesaman, it turns out those plants I got were "big jaws". I hope at some point you can figure out how to get a royalty. Register the cultivar name maybe? "Big Jaws" is great!

Cp Connection- The plants you have are a Big Jaws selfing and I believe that you will have a Big Jaws x (Big Jaws x Dente) as well. Both plants should get large traps. I am in the process of registering and getting the plant put into tissue culture, and you have some of the very first ones to come out .

Devon B- The traps average between 1.25" - 1.5" and a mature plant fits nicely in a 6" pot
