What is the condition of the plant? Is it just limp? Burned? Turning black?
If the plant is just dehydrated, I have had success rehydrating plants (of all types) by submerging them in water for several hours to a day. It seems to help them absorb water back in quickly. That isn't always successful but has worked many times. But if a plant is really fried brown or turned black, that won't work of course.
You may have to cut off any damaged growth (that isn't green) and wait for it to grow back out.

Cougarmint:
As for your vft I would just make sure it has plenty of water and reduce the amount of light for about a 10 or so days or until it looks healther. Then gradually work the vft back into the sun. Just next time try to find a place were the vft can have some shade too during sunny days.
