It is a little late in the year for putting VFTs into dormancy. Normally they are just now waking up in the N. hemisphere. Where have his VFTs been growing? Maryland is always in the mid-50s? Not the Maryland that I know. If they have been growing outside all winter, don't worry about dormancy, thay will be OK. If they have been in aa heated room with artifical light,
If they have been in aa heated room with artifical light. First get the plants conditioned to thinking it is fall by progressively reducing daylength and temperature over the next several weeks. If the temperature outside is in the mid-50s, take the plants outside for progressively longer periods. Once growth has slowed and the plants become hardened to winter, then sprinkle them with fungicide and put them in the frig. If you take them from a nice warm terrarium with a long daylength and immediately dump them into a dark cold frig, they will likely get a big shock. It may not kill them, but first preparing them for dormancy is much better.
