Did I do something right?

I opened up the vft that had the ladie bug in it it was all black so I pinched it off was that a bad idea? I also removed yellow traps and the black dead stuff.

one good thing is that my vft digested that little brown bettle could of been worse.

If the traps start to turn black, yellow, then yes cut them off. But remember to leave the stems. The plant will/can still use them ( photosynthesis ).

You did the right thing, keeping dead decaying things away from the plant will reduce the risk of rot for the rest of the plant.

That wasn't a good idea, VenusStephan. When you opened up the trap, the plant was still in digestion mode. Pinching off the trap, you just completely stopped the nutrients going to the center of the plant and just killed a healthy trap.
