people from melbourne, or just Australia??

hey peoplez...

i'm from Melbourne, Australia....

i'm trying to locate somebody from australia to help me with the dormancy of the VFT's....

Oli G from UK has helped me heaps, and i tank him greatly!!!....i'm starting to get a small idea of the dormancy, but i would really appreciate it if nebody from aussie could help me, since we'd have the same seasonal period.....

i couldn't be the only Aussie here in the forum, could i???
:confused:

Hi DreyZ

Have you checked out the International Forum? Its for non-USA folks who have different growing seasons and plant resources than we do here. Check it out...and no, you are not the only Aussie here. :) You should be able to get more specific dormancy info there.

i live in sydney, i've received various replies on dormancy in the southern hemisphere. i just went with the best way recommended and put my vft in the refrigerator, as per instructions here at petflytrap.com...

i think the url was:
<a href="http://www.petflytrap.com/dormancy.html

" target="_blank">http://www.petflytrap.com/dormancy.html

</a>

well... i am in no way an experienced vft keeper... i got my trap in march (for my birthday from my boyfriend!).... it's the first one i ever had. i've done SO much research and i'm hoping i'm doing everything correctly.

if i were you i'd put them in the refrigerator as soon as possible... the way i figure, they'll need about three months (?) dormancy during the coldest months of the year. so i'm thinking now's a pretty good time to put them to sleep for the winter! :cool:
