On one of the traps the part of the "teeth" is black and crusty. What should I do!?

You should cut off all traps that are black or are beginning to turn black.Unless your plant is ill it is perfectly normal for traps to turn black.

to suppliment what john is saying...

only cut off the trap, at the small neck where it joins the plant. This way, you retain the leaf, which can continue adding to the photosynthetic ability of the plant, it makes it stronger. And cutting off that black trap will help keep that leaf around longer, sometimes, a lot longer...

but the simple truth is, the more green, the better.

Man, I have been dumb wrong for a while...I cut the whole leaf in hopes it would concentrate on producing bigger traps.
