i dont know if i planted them correctly, but it has a white stiff part and a black thin parts... is the roots the black part or is that just decayed stems? most of it is the white part

is the white part the stems and should i plant that above the soil? or is that the root and i should plant that under the soil? i dont know which is the root...

The long thin black parts are the roots. The white part is the rhizome. There should be some green at the crown of the plant. That part should be above the surface of the soil.

Good Luck
Steve

thanks for the help
i didn't have any green parts and the roots are so short...

VFT plants with no leaves, need no roots. Roots are used to provide moisture and soil nutrients to leaves.
