Trap redness

I read online that if you let a vft starve for a while, the traps turn redder. Probably to entice more insects. Does anyone have any experience with this?

From my experience, my starving plants don't look any darker, in fact they could be lighter in color!  I would suspect other things like soil acidity, humidty and light levels before a plant would turn redder.  Personally I don't give the theory much credit.

I've heard of this, but take no stock in it being true.

Hmm. I was skeptical about it too. It made sense though. I think I'll continue feeding my beasts.

Loses the fun when your plant can't eat. Then you'll be growing "just" plants.

Yeah. It's fun to have a plant that's also a pet.
